Set in 200 acres of private land, and with a rustic charm off all its own, the lodges nestles in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Its located 250kms from Nairobi on a paved road except for the last 4kms of all-weather marram, the journey takes between 3 and 4 hours. Flying from Nairobi takes approximately 40 minutes, and it is an hour’s transfer time from the airstrip to the lodge. Rustic, well-spaced cottages meander through the vast expanse of mature gardens and house eighty three guest rooms. These are all brightly decorated with Maasai themed wall murals, and each room has been purpose built to contain either one or two queen sized beds as well as a veranda. The Lodge also has a luxuriously appointed, extremely spacious, two bedroom Presidential suite with a private dining room and an attached kitchenette, and also with a huge lounge and a quite simply vast veranda.
