4 Days Mount Kenya Climbing
Overview
Mount Kenya is the highest mountain in Kenya and the second-highest in Africa, after Kilimanjaro. The highest peaks of the mountain are Batian, Nelion and Point Lenana.

Tour Plan
Pick up Nairobi then drive for 3 hours through agricultural country up to Chogoria town for lunch.  After lunch, we drive up to the edge of the bamboo forest where we start our trek through the dense bamboo forest for a distance of 10 km up to the Mt Kenya Bandas.
Meals and Overnight at Mount Kenya Bandas.
After breakfast, commence early for a long trek on a wide track through the forest, with occasional sightings of elephant, bushbuck, buffalo, and impala. Emerging from the forest, you walk through heather before crossing the Nithi River to reach the moorlands from where you can enjoy good views of the picturesque Gorges Valley, the Temple, lakes, mushroom rocks, billiards table, and the high peaks. For 8 hours climb have picnic lunch enroute to the next camp.
Meals and Overnight at Mintos Camp.
Predawn attempt of the summit starts at 0300hrs and you hike for about three hours up to Point Lenana (4,985m), the hiker's summit, arriving there for the African sunrise. Descend Shipton`s camp for breakfast. 5 Hours descent after breakfast via Mackinder`s valley to the Judmiere camp. The descent is gentle and it offers ample time to enjoy fascinating scenery which includes the moorlands before reaching the camp.
Meals and Overnight at Old Moses Camp
Have an early morning breakfast and descend down to Sirimon gate 3 hrs walk. Depart to Nairobi with Lunch enroute at Nanyuki Town. Arrive at Nairobi city in time for drop off.
